Who We Are

The US has incredible topographic diversity, much of which is created through the plant life of a particular region. Americans hold pride and a sense of home in their region’s uniqueness. However, that sense of place is threatened by the deterioration of natural environments due to issues like urbanization and invasive plant and animal life.

Our Mission

VERA Society empowers its members to promote a sense of their home and community through preserving local and endemic plant life. Our activities focus on building awareness of, connection to, and revitalization efforts of plant life through providing educational and community resources, local programming and partnerships, and donations to other charitable or educational organizations sharing this mission.

It is our vision to provide current and future generations with a verdant local environment.

What would the California landscape be without chaparral? Arizona without the saguaro? Kansas without sunflowers?
